The even feed foot "walks" over fabric to assist with smooth feeding. With this foot, fabric can be sewn without shifting or puckering since the fabric is gripped and fed by both upper and lower feed dogs. It works well with materials like knit, vinyl or leather. These purple tip needles by Janome effectively prevent skipped stitches when sewing and embroidering on heavy fabrics, including knits, quilting multiple layers, and also for sewing across the hem. They have a ball point tip that prevents fabric thread breakage and a special "cobra" head that reduces fluctuation of fabric that causes skipped stitches.

Janome Blue Tip Needle
Designed specifically for your Janome machine. The blue tip needle, a Janome exclusive, is a size #11 and is our best 'all purpose' needle for both both machine embroidery and general sewing on most types of fabrics. The needles special feature is an oversize eye to accomodate the embroidery thread. It reduces stress and tension on the top thread and makes threading easier. Slight Ball point tip.

Designed for knit fabrics and Janome 3/4 thread Overlockers.

Similar to a universal needle, but has rounded edges and is not tapered the same way. Intended for closely knit fabrics where the rounded tip will push the weave out of the way rather than cut through it.

Janome Overlockers only use these needles.

Compatible with: ML544D, ML644D, ML744D, AT2000D, 8004D

Red Tip needles are designed for denser embroidery. Created in the same style as the classic Blue Tip, the Janome Red Tip needles provide the extra strength and durability needed for denser embroidery and thicker fabrics. The size 14 needles are equipped with a larger eye, which helps to prevent thread breakage which can occur when working with tricky threads, such as metallic.
